What type of lipstick is right for you?

Every kind of lippy gives different definition and effect to one’s lips that can definitely change the entirety of a person’s look.

So here’s a rundown of different kinds of lippies that I know of.

Sheer:

This lipstick gives a natural look even though it contains very little shine. It is not buildable coz it’s supposed to be translucent. In my opinion it’s like a tinted balm but has more color. I recommend this to women who want a subtle color.

Lip stains:

A lipstain is actually literally explained as it is named. It stains your lips that it stays on for a very long time. It comes in a liquid or gel like consistency. In my opinion this gives a natural look next to Sheer. This lippy gives the one called “just bitten” look.

Gloss:

This gives your lips some shine. Lip gloss comes on different shades though they all end up with a transparent finish. This can be used alone or on top a lipstick. The color doesn't last long because it’s very oily so it needs to be reapplied every now and then. I recommend this to girls who have very small lips coz this will definitely plump your lips.

Cream:

Cream lipstick delivers an intense color with very little shine. The shine is almost not noticeable. This type of lipstick is very easy to apply because of the cream consistency.  Although the level of color intensity is same as a Matte lipstick, a cream lipstick can fade faster than matte lipstick but stays longer than the rest of the lippy types. This would definitely suit everyone.

Matte:

Matte lipsticks leave a dull finish, which is why most matte lipsticks are in bold colors. The matte finish understates a bold color that is why most stars who wear red lips tend to use a matte finish. Matte lipsticks in nude colors can look very natural too. I recommend this to everyone.

  1. Once you go matte, you'll never go back. MAC's Ruby Woo--best shade ever.

  2. There's also a frost/metallic finish. Not a fan those and not everyone can pull those colors off.
